JUdge Hatchett

Judge Glenda Hatchett has always presented the world with amazing spirit. Graduating from Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, Judge Hatchett was then accepted and enrolled in Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. It was during her time at Emory where she developed the necessary tools needed to aid our community thru the justice system. Judge Glenda Hatchett presided over the 2-time Emmy nominated syndicated show, Judge Hatchett which ran for 9 seasons (Sony Pictures Television), and is author of the national best-seller, “Say What You Mean, Mean What You Say” (HarperCollins).

After receiving her J.D. from Emory University, Judge Hatchett spent nearly 10 years at Delta Air Lines.

Facing many levels of adversity and challenge, no obstacle was too large to deny her dreams of success. Ultimately, Judge Hatchett became the highest ranking African-American woman with Delta Airlines as the Senior Attorney and Counsel.

Years later, Hatchett was appointed Chief Presiding Judge of the Fulton County Juvenile Court—becoming the first African-American Chief Presiding Judge of a state court in Georgia and head of one of the largest juvenile court systems in the country. Over the span of 20 years, Judge Hatchett empowered and motivated hundreds of young men and women to dare to dream and reach the levels of success destined by God.

Judge Hatchett has taken her message of inspiration to print with the release of two self-authored books Say What You Mean and Mean What You Say and her upcoming book "Dare to Take Charge" to be released March 7, 2012. Both of these phenomenal prints serve as tools to push the realization that everyone born has an appointment with greatness.

It is no surprise that Judge Hatchett was named one of the 100 Best and Brightest Women in Corporate America by Ebony Magazine. This only added to her incredible list of honors and awards; such as Earl Warren Scholar, NAACP’s Thurgood Marshall Award, Roscoe Pound Award, Prism Award, Distinguished Alumna Award and Honorary Degree from Mt. Holyoke College, and the Emory Medal (which is the highest honor any graduate could receive).

The gala fundraiser promises to be a landmark event for the Grand strand area. In addition to an elegant dinner, celebrities’ appearance, musical entertainment, eight individuals will be recognized for their contributions in the fields of Religion, Education, Community Service, Government, Athletics, Public Service and Military. Advanced tickets are available for $100.00 per person.
